I was really excited when I found out that New Zealand was the country of focus for EIFF 2020. After WARU & VAI how could you not be excited to see what was new from short filmmakers working in New Zealand!? Watching the shorts for this programme was always a joy, there were so many films I loved and I could have easily made at least two full programmes! In the end I focused on giving just a brief cross section of filmmaking from New Zealand, there is some incredible talent behind and in front of the camera in these shorts.
